If you bought your meal plan separately from your accommodation, you can cancel it within 14 days of first use.
If your meal plan was included with your accommodation contract, then the meal plan cancellation follows your accommodation terms, so you can’t cancel the meal plan on its own without also cancelling the accommodation contract.
If you cancel within the allowed period, any refund will be calculated on a pro-rata (weekly) basis, meaning you’ll only be refunded for full weeks you’ve not used yet.
Unused credit within a week can’t be refunded and will be lost.
The refund will go back to the original payment method (e.g., your card), and you won’t be charged extra for the refund.
In rare cases (for example, serious illness, withdrawing from university, or other serious changes), a refund might be considered at the University’s discretion. Refunds in these cases are still on a weekly basis only.
To cancel your meal plan, you should contact the Clever Cuisine team directly, usually by email to cleveruisine@reading.ac.uk
